Old Town Ramble and Ride

The Ramble and Ride is a free eco-friendly festival held annually in the historic area of Yellowknife, Northwest Territories on the August long weekend. The 2025 festival marks the 19th edition of Old Town's beloved festival, which is a local favourite! It’s very family friendly and has events for all ages! 

Folk on the Rocks

Kick off your shoes and get ready for a night of dancing in the sand under the midnight sun! This unique music festival will have attendees singing at the top of their lungs to great artists from across the country. You don’t want to miss this folkin’ good time! 

FOTR is one of Canada’s top summertime music and cultural festivals, drawing performers from the NWT, Nunavut and all across Canada for the North’s biggest party under the midnight sun.

Summer / Fall

No matter the season you visit, Yellowknife is a magical place! In the summer you can stay up until the peak morning hours under the midnight sun, or come visit in the fall and catch the world’s best aurora! 

Our community is home to numerous lakes, all prime for your water adventures like canoeing, portaging, stand-up paddleboarding, and kayaking! You can also go camping under the midnight sun and spend the night cuddled up by the campfire with good company, great snacks - a perfect equation for good memories. 

All Season

If you’re hoping for a kids paradise, check out My World or the indoor playground at the Fieldhouse where they can play to their heart’s content. Try the Climbing Wall or Walking Track for a challenge. Have a swim at the Aquatic Centre or a skate at the Multiplex for a fun and sporty afternoon for the whole family!
