How to spend Sunday and Monday in Yellowknife

So you've arrived on the weekend...what's open!? Check out the Yellowknife Visitor Centre to find out.

Like many small towns, Yellowknife has its own rhythm—and that sometimes means certain businesses and restaurants are closed on Sundays and Mondays. But don’t despair—there’s still plenty to do! You can enjoy swimming in our beautiful new pool, hike the local trails, go birding, browse unique shops, or treat yourself to something delicious at one of our many eateries.

To start things off—and what we consider an essential first stop—please visit the Yellowknife Visitor Centre, located in the lower level of Centre Square Mall at 5014 – 50th Street. We’re open seven days a week from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and one of our knowledgeable visitor counsellors will be happy to guide you and help you plan your day. Since some businesses may change their summer hours, getting personalized advice from our staff is the best way to begin your adventure.

And don’t forget to collect your free certificate, pin and postcard -- stamped with our famous wildlife stamps—a perfect Northern souvenir!
