Yellowknife is surrounded by numerous beautiful lakes, some having the ability to double as skating rinks in the winter if you’re willing to brave the chill! The City of Yellowknife also maintains a number of outdoor rinks around the City. Make sure that you always check the Ice Thickness Table before venturing out for your activity! These facilities are free, but make sure you bring your own skates and gear, as there are no rentals.
Not looking to be outside? There are indoor rinks at the Multiplex and Yellowknife Community Arena that offer ice time for public skates for a small entrance fee. These facilities do not have rental skates.
